Packaging design by no means ends when artwork files are sent to the printing house
This is followed by an important phase where we ensure that the design and material production is carried out as planned. We can send color targets and model proofs to the printing house, which aid the printing house to achieve similar results. In cooperation with the printing house, we implement a solution that reproduces the design in the best way.
However, depending on the printing process, material choices, ink quality, and actual printing machines, the end result may differ from what was planned. In this case, it is advisable to set a print management supervision that guarantees the perfect result. Our expert will travel to the print house and makes decisions on possible color value adjustments. At this point, it is good that the person performing the print supervision is familiar with the packaging design in question, as decisions are made on a fast schedule. Excellent color management and color knowledge are also key in this phase, as a minor change in any colour unit can affect the entire design. Once the settings have been brought to the appropriate level and the print has been approved, the printing process can continue to producing packaging materials.
