Igloo Cola was first launched in Sweden in 1961 to bring joy to popsicle fans. Now, as the brand’s 60th anniversary approached, there was a desire to bring the retro product back to market. Unilever approached us to create a recognizable brand visual that would appeal to both “old” customers who remember the product from their youth and to new target groups.
What we did:
The retro design had to contain elements that were recognizable to the brand, but at the same time appear modernized. We sought inspiration from the brand’s original logo and color scheme, and thus the new Igloo Cola design began to take shape. We also wanted to visualize the product image so that the joy of sharing the popsicle would also inspire the new generation.
The revived visual of the retro brand has received much praise. Those who remember the brand from their youth have recognized the product and the packaging look has also appealed to new consumers.
