Consumers are exposed to a large number of advertisements on a daily basis, and sometimes standing out from the masses, especially on digital channels, is challenging. Solutions for advertisement targeting can be sought through consumer needs and understanding their behavior which also support content design. Sometimes consumer attention can be grabbed with an interesting visual and unexpected solutions.
What we did and results:
We implemented a summer campaign for Havu Mäntysuopa and Tolu product brands, in which advertising was brought to consumers and literally into their hands via mobile phone screens. We ran a targeting campaign that affected the content of the summer days weather using the Super Weather app, where the content of the ad changed according to the weather and the time of day. Targeted and close-to-the-customer advertising aroused interest and left a strong memory mark in consumers’ minds that lasted all the way to the store.
We were also commissioned to design a visual look for the Havu Mäntysuopa summer competition. The main prize of the campaign was a product package of 12 pine soap bottles. As a result, Havu Mäntysuopa Mäyräkoira (HaMM) dachshund was born, which became a small-scale social media phenomenon. The HaMM dachshund has been adventuring now for a couple of summers to entertain the participants in the competition, and will continue to go to local sales events as well.
